Here Be Dragons is an Austrian nonprofit association for research and public education on artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and responsible human–machine futures. We treat data sovereignty and digital self-determination as foundational, and we work toward technological futures where curiosity about powerful tools is matched by humility about their risks.
Sovereign AI. We run open-weight models on hardware we control, and we publish the work end to end: conversions, quantizations for Apple Silicon (MLX), setup scripts and measured limits. Our models are sized to run locally on a single machine, with no cloud dependency.
